I was left an item that I do not know what it is used for. It has the name Sinclair (Sinclair Intl I presume) and it looks like a cleaning rod except the end of it has circular saw teeth. There is one handle and two of these rods.
Any ideas?
Thanks...... pg

Boyd Allen suggested I put this question (above) up on the rimfire forum to see if someone can back up his answer to my question.
Boyd thought this tool was homemade to clean the chamber on a 22 rimfire rifle.
It has saw teeth on the end. Boyd also said he thought this was never a commercial item.
Thanks...... pg

I recall a discussion of a saw tooth jag to remove the carbon ring in front of the chamber but was not in the game when it was being produced.

I wonder if such a saw tooth jag was sold commercially? I have never seen one myself.

They were sold by an individual but I don't know if any of the big distributors carried them. Kind of begs the definition of commercially.

Maybe I might be able to get these rods from the person who now has them.
In person I may be able to tell if they are homemade or otherwise.
Thanks for your comments...... pg

They were made by a gentleman in New Mexico who has since moved to Texas. The purpose was to remove the lead in front of the chamber. They would not fit some tight barrels and generally didn't work imho. For it to work right you would need one made for your specific chamber. There are many products that remove the lead more efficiently. Looks like they are installed on chamber rods. Rods normally used with a bore brush or chamber mop. for cleaning the chamber of centerfire rifles.

Thanks Rich.
Yours is the most definitive answer yet.
