For those that may be interested I would like to send out an invitation, on behalf of my club. The first NRA Registered 2400 F Class Smallbore Rimfire Rifle match is coming to a Range near you. NRA Has finally Approved Smallbore F-Class similar to F-Class for Highpower shooters.
If you are unfamiliar what F-Class shooting is and why I bring this up on a BR forum I shall explain. F-Class is basically bench-rest; However, it is more challenging, and fired from the ground.
1. It is fired from the prone position with a separate front and rear rest or bipod and rear rest. This means you will need a shooting mat, but a yoga mat will do fine.
2. It is fired on the most "fun" of NRA targets, A50 & A33. that means you will be competing at your normal 50 meters plus a 3 stages at 100 yards. this separates the men from the boys in my opinion.
3. There has never been a perfect score (Slinged Prone shooters) a perfect score is 1200 (One day) or 2400 (Both Days). Just for reference the NRA National Records (Again Prone shooters) are as follows: (Iron Sights; 1186 shot in 2004) (Scoped sights; 1192 shot in 1993) how long will it be before a F-Class shooter sets a perfect score?
If you really wish to push the ability of you and your rifle I highly recommend taking this sport up and competing with us:
