If you could only have one rifle to shoot at Williamsport for both classes what would be you caliber of choice. I am considering using a Kelby or Stiller action, Kreiger barrel,Sheshane or McMillen stock, Nightforce scope.
I shoot a 30 WSM light gun with no brake, no recoil pad (just wood stock that's not even rounded) and shoot it free recoil with 210 bergers in a 10 twist. On Saturday, I shot my first test rounds with this gun and first ones in any gun since eons ago, 120 rounds in that gun. I never gave it a thought and if I needed to shoot another 500 I'd have done that. With someone else paying for the bullets and powder of course!300 WSM in light gun? That's not a lot of fun. I would con, 6-6.5x47 Lapua, 6 dasher, or even a 6.5x47 Lapua. With the new RL17 powder, you can get 6.5-284 Velocity 2900+from the 6.5x47 with much better bbl life.
