Butt-material

I have an old bench rest stock that I am working on and need to replace the material on the butt. The stuff looks like velcrol and is very thin. The old stuff is comeing unglued and not worth reglueing. The benchrest stock is fiberglass and seems to have a foam core. Anyone know where I might get something to replace this butt material. garrisone.

I cut mine from a 5" psa sanding disc. I used 120 grit. If you look around you can get different colored discs, brown, blue red etc. Just cut peel and stick, easy and cheep too.

Or, you could go to almost any hardware store and pick up a piece of anti-skid stair tread, then glue that on. But, that sanding disc idea sounds as good as anything to me.
