Thank you both for saying what you really feel.....

For all the folks here reading I need to state that Butch sent me one of His Shade Tree Tuners to test a while back. No obligation etc...... just a Good Guy. I've shot it in a couple matches, it affects tune as readily as any of the others I've messed with.

Gene Beggs is another I've got into it with over the years and Gene has always been a gentleman, and I use and love his Probe.

The only reason I'm posting this is to elaborate that these fellows are GENTLEMEN and that any percieved rancor ISN'T. There are always people hanging around internet forums who take offense at the slightest sign of passion.

I detest this.

Thanks to all of you I've mentioned and to all others who'll stand up on their hind feet and SAY IT, loud and proud.

And Butch...... I'm NOT the Gentleman you are..... just lettin' you know, in public, that when you come around I WILL say I tole ya so!!!!

LOL

Al you are exactly right they are both great guys. I happen to know them both.
Gene is always willing to share.
If anyone on this site should have a grudge against me it would be Butch but give him his due he is always the scholar and gentleman. I bought a rest top from him recently and as always great great great.
These are the kind of guys with some others that make this such a great sport.

Jerry you better watch out. Al is planning an end run on us. No Al, I really doubt that you would ever see the difference on paper between the two methods. I had the opportunity several years ago to observe a barrel with a very crooked bore. It was put in a latch with a 3 jaw chuck and steady rest. No indicating was done to it. It was chambered with a pusher. This was a fun thing that usually comes after a few beers. The chambering guy had no drinks by the way.The barrel was swapped end for end and crowned. 15 rounds through it to fireform the brass. In good conditions it shot a .206 agg. I wish it had been mine, but it was cut off and rechambered in 6AI and made into a prairie dog rifle.
You can believe this story or not, but I witnessed it.
