Bushnell 4200 Elite Tactical vs. Leupold Mark 4?

I have 2 Savages I'm going to be scoping out later this fall. An 12 F/TR and a 10 FP, both in .308. I'm looking for opinions on the Bushnell 4200 Elite Tactical, 6-24X 50MM and the Leupold Mark 4, 8.5-25X 50MM. There is a significant price difference between these 2 models, and both receive good reviews. I'd like opinions from someone who has both. My original plan was to put the Bushnell on the 10 FP, and the Leupold on the 12 F/TR. Does the Leupold excel enough to warrant the cost? I have several Leupolds that I've purchased over the years, and all have served me well, but I know Bushnell has produced some very good optics. Opinions? Bill T.

I currently have both scopes on varmint rifles, the bushnell is a brilliant varmint scope and for the $ you cant go wrong. The leopold performs much better when defining holes in paper especially in mirage although you pay for it.

I have both scopes and I would go with the Leupold on the F/TR for sure.

Another option than the 4200 would be the 6500, much brighter.

ditto on what alan f said, got both, he hit the nail on the head

the wind is my friend,,,,,,,,,,
