Bullet Holes

Went to the range today to test a new bullet for me.I loaded up seven different seating depths to get an idea of what one to work with.Out of the seven, two showed by the group (3 shots each ) that I should work with that setting. My question is that one of the groups from the seven ones tested had perfect round bullet holes where the other six groups all looked alike with the standard little ragged holes. The group with the real nice holes was one of the two best groups. Any idea why that one group had such nice bullet holes ? Have never run across this before.

the backing can also make a difference. If the target you were shooting happened to be on an unused portion of the backing it can make the holes in the paper look perfect.

My guess is you have less yaw and thus the bullet is flying truer
