I trying to load some 6mm PPC shell's. I'm yousing a stonie point tool to see how far the bullet goes in the chamber. Best i can tell there isn't but .083 inches of the bullet in the case if i touch the lands is that normal ?
Thanks Max

Set that tool to the side and seat a bullet long in the case then close the bolt and measure it then. Tell us what bullet youre shooting and who did the chambering

I bought the gun used from Lester Bruno who ever does his smithing for him.

Listen to Dusty, lose the tool, repeat the process a few times until you get a consistent OAL with a single bullet. Once you've got that , seat them in another .005"-.0010" and shoot them.

Yes, .083 is enough. One of the best barrels I ever had took a 62gr bullet seated just barely - they often fell out when I was in a hurry making a big mess of everything. Looking back, I could have probably seated them in a bit further but I was winning for goodness sake!

You've likely got more neck to use than that as the others have said. By the way...."yousing" is incorrect. I don't care - just thought maybe you might.

Thanks Wilbur some time spell check cant ever bail me out .
