Build w/BAT M action-base options

I know many on the benchrest scene use BAT model M155 Round actions and some couple it with a Nightforce scope/rings. The BAT action comes pre-drilled with 4 holes for a base mount. Most bases out there that I've seen are for Remington flat and the likes-wont work.

Option 1: Nightforce Gunsmith base (see attached). Looks to me to require some machining in order for it to fit flush with the action as well as drilling holes properly aligned with the action holes. That's a possibility but unforetunatly it's raw steel and prefer stainless.

Option 2: BAT offers Weaver style ring base stainless steel the hole patterns on these bases are specific to BAT Actions. This may be my best option. I'm wondering what other options I have. What base are some of you using with th this configuration. Thank you for any suggestions and insight. Charlie

Get the BAT base, either Weaver style or 1/2" dovetail.

MR. Tooley, I'm familiar with your accomplishments and am honored to get a response from you. How cool is that, WOW.:D

Weaver style that's kinda what my gut was leaning towards and coming from you well that sealed the deal. Thank you for taking the time to respond.:)

Bat makes rings for their actions, 1", 30mm, flat or 20 minute that mount without bases. You can shop on their websight.

Greg, thanks for the response. I like the idea very much but don't know what experience others have had with them with respect to why I am leaning towards Nightforce Ultra Lite rings for several reason: they proven to hold the scope firmly on heavy recoiling rifles when both positive and negative G-forces are applied as is the case with a muzzle brake and they match the Nightforce color...although maybe the BAT rings could be painted or coated...but, not familar with anyone who's done that and what they experienced with the coating. Maybe I'll start another post here on BR and see what others have experienced with + & - G-forces and coatings etc. Again thanks for the response it's got me thinking. Charlie
