Dusted off my son's Browning A-bolt 30.06 with Leupold 3X9, cleaned bore, bought some Remington factory 150 Core Lokt bullets, and went to range.
Rifle has a low round count, and I was amazed that rifle can shoot from just over 1/2" to just under 3/4" groups @ 100 yards with the low magnification of scope, and an old guy driving.
Smoothness of action and trigger, shorter bolt throw, fast handling lighter weight, coupled with also being aesthetically pleasing, suits me.
My gunsmith stated that a factory Browning A-bolt seldom needs much when truing a Browning A-bolt.
What have others experienced when attempting to true or tune a Browning A-bolt action?
From others experience, is son's Browning A-bolt performance the exception or more a common rule?
Thanks.
