Broken Win52D Stock?

I bought a 52d recently and the stock has been shortened about 4-5" and a hook buttplate installed. I won't use the hook, and need a "firewood quality" stock (pistol grip back only) to cut off and install on my stock.

Anyone have such a critter laying around they'd part with?

I have a stock for a 52, it was on a pre suffix don't know if it's the same or not.

option?

Howdy!
You probably already thought of this, but you can generally find the flat plate to go on the end of the butt instead of the hook, if you look on ebay under "Al Freeland".

I second calling Reese Surplus (they have a web page too). $50 or so will get you a ready to finish and drop in 52D stock. If they have some with blemishes you can pick those up for much less. I bought a pair for $75 last year and the good one was far better than the factory original. bob finger

Already got a stock from Reese--I am just looking for a broken stock to cut off and scab onto the stock I have--you can see how short it is in this pic--I would like to put about 3-4" more length on it.

why not replace but plate with length adj. one. A simple style like the ones on the Remington 540/540xr or copy same. They are available.

My plan is to reshape the butt to make the bottom parallel to the bottom of the fore end--to make it ride the bags better for my fun shoots-

Since its such a nice looking piece of wood why not add a 4 inch spacer then cut the botom of the spacer parallel and install whatever butt plate you like.
I'd go with a checkered wooden butt plate using a contrasting dark hard wood.
