Here are the complete results from Brock's Gap November 9-10.

Beautiful weather...finally had a Brock's Gap shoot with NO RAIN!

The weekend turned into the Bart and Billy show with the two of them battling it out to the end on several aggs. Billy won Unlimited with a really nice .1490 agg. Bart won the rest of the aggs as well as all four small groups. Jeff Graves was winning Sporter up till the last group where he augered in.

In addition to the shoot results I am posting 2013 and 2012 Shooter of the Year points. 2012 is being posted because I neglected to post them last year.

Billy wound up winning 2013 SE Region Shooter of the Year. He also won 2012 SE Region Shooter of the Year. I for one will be glad when he moves to Kentucky!

thank ye!

Steve: Thanks for posting. Refresh our memories about how shooter if the year is arrived at? Thanks jim casey.

It's unlikely that Steve changed it since its beginning. You get a point for each competitor bested in a class agg. I do believe that Steve clarified the issue of those competitors both leaving early and being disqualified. You still get the point for a competitor that didn't finish but not for the DNQ....I think it is.....

Sorry...been out of pocket for a couple of weeks.

For the last three years I have calculated Shooter of the Year points based on what I thought were the correct rules. Calculations are based on aggs only, not grands. Each shooter gets a point for each shooter he beats. If there are 50 shooters in the agg the winner gets 49 points for that agg.

Since this is for the Southeast Region I have assumed (or may have been told) that only Southeast Region shooters should be included in the results, but all shooters are included in calculating points. If this is incorrect let me know. I have never seen a written document clarifying the rules, so it is entirely possible that I could be wrong.

The biggest problem I have with compiling the points is that the Bughole databases for each range are not in sync. Missing shooters are added, and the region info and membership numbers are never saved with the new shooter. Frequently I'm lucky to have an address, typos result in names being misspelled, etc. If someone downloads a fresh copy of Bughole they have an empty database so all of the shooters must be entered as new. When I import shoots into the master database I wind up with a lot of duplicates and missing information so it takes me around 6 hours to fix the data and that is an error prone process.

I plan to correct this in the next version of Bughole, but I work on Bughole when I have time and feel like it. I'm retiring in about a month and hope to have time to do a complete rewrite this coming year but I will not commit to a delivery date.

Since I took this over I've kind of been doing it on my own. I'd love to have some input and/or an official rule book for how this is supposed to be done.

Ok doka!

Bottle washer and steve: Just curious as i do not remember do so well in 2012 but came in second. Much to my regreat did not attend all southeast shoots so i was curious as to how it works - ie all southeast shoots or just the southeast regionals? I appreciate ya'll efforts and dedication to keep records up and maintain them. Thanks again. And do not eat too much turkey. Jim casey.
