Brass questions

Brass.....Norma 340 WBY.......necked downd with my 300 Wby FL die......necks then expanded a little for neck turning. Will be neck sized again before I shoot them.

2 questions.

1) I know I will need to trim to length......do I fire them once first to get them all uniform or trim first?

2) After working the brass this much, should I be thinking about anneling?

Shoot first then trim, anneal after 3 -5 cycles.

if you have a tight neck chamber and have to neck turn you have to trim before you neck turn.if you don't you will not have same lenth necks.all the brass has to be the same lenth before neck turning.good luck

all the brass has to be the same lenth before neck turning.

Only if you rely on the mechanical stop to tell you how far to turn. I cut a bit into the shoulder, it's a visual thing. Then fireform, then final trim.
