BR Rifle Question

I am new to BR Rimfire and, would like to know if an Anschutz 1710 HB is a decent platform for a BR .22 rifle? I know there would have to be a stock change, but, what about the rest of the rifle? Thanks in advance for your input.
 
I did exactly that last year & feel that it was a mistake. You will have more money in that rig than you can buy an excellent used custom rig for. Been there done that. However, if you really must, there is that exact rig on RimfireCentral, and at a good price. Good luck.

look at classified here some really fantastic rifles for sale. some of these are winning rifles at great prices.

just my 2c. then if you find you dont like this game you can get out without too much loss.

Thank You Joe, I took a look at the 1710 on the other site. It is right in my price range. I will take your advice. I guess I will keep watching the add's, and try to get a full custom rig. (Dang, I wish I knew more about this stuff.) Thank You for your input.

Attend a BR Match

That is the best place to buy a used BR Rifle. You'll also get a chance to shoot it before you buy. Where are you located?

these guys here are great people. no doubt they would sell you a rifle with a 3 day trial but i doubt if you need to worry.

p/m fred he wont steer you wrong with rifles listed here and he has lots of knowledge and experience.

Fred, I live in a benchrest dead spot. I live in Eastern Oklahoma. I plan to go to Bar-B Rimfire club, its only a little over an hour away from where I live. I wont know anyone there, but i'm shure it'll be a good time.
 
Bob, In response to your first post... I know I will Love this game, If I can get set up right. It looks like Im getting some good help here.

They are good peopleto shoot with. They may be able to put you onto a good rifle. I'll see Darrell & Don tomorrow, and see what they might know of.
