Hello everyone,

I am a BR newbie, having recently gotten into reloading I decided that producing .45's and .223's at home was just not interesting enough. I have signed up to maybe gain a little background on BR shooting as a sport and particularly wildcatting/handloading and hopefully building BR guns, or at least assembling them from parts.

I have been doing Information Security related R&D and operational work for about 14 years now, with my main area of expertise being IDS, intrusion testing, and UNIX system security. I work for a spin off from a very large communications company. If there is anything I can do to help the forums security-wise, by all means don't hesitate to let me know.

Thanks & have a great holiday weekend,
John

Welcome...

Welcome aboard! Your age, location, and vocation should set you up well in future competition in benchrest shooting whether in short range (100, 200, 300yd) or long range (600, 1000yd) matches.

The best advise I can give is to find out where there are benchrest matches near you and go visit. There you can observe and get excellent advise how to start, what equipment is required, and some great sage advise of what is a waste of time and effort.

And...by all means keep reading this forum and a means of hints and advise.

Good luck,
Virg
