Bench Rest match report 11/7/11 (if two shooters makes a match still??)
The day after the storm blew through, started with mild south easterly winds of 1-3mph as Christine and I passed by the BR range and walked for the morning paper. By 10am it was up to 45 degrees. I emailed the gang with the news, but only Mark showed up for the afternoon BR shoot.
By then we were getting some switching into due south and south westerly, but gusts stayed under 5mph for the most part. For the last card, starting about 3:30pm, the winds steadied out nicely from the SW at 1-2mph. A very nice condition indeed!
Mark Gravelle loves his FWB600. And well he should, with the scores he shot today!!! But especially since he has to cock the side lever for every shot! And at 6fpe he really has to guess the wind right with those 7.34gr AA falcons. I’m practicing up with my HV class 20fpe rig, USFT #6, shooting 10.5gr cph…
Mark and I both complained about “bad pellets, and fairy dust getting in the way”, making our pellets do stuff that the flags said they shouldn’t… but anyway, here is how we did:
Sporter Class:
Mark Gravelle- 234 -6X, 240 -5X, 242 -10X – Total: 716 – 21X
HV- 20fpe Class:
Wayne Burns- 245 -10X, 246 -16X, 247 -7X - Total: 738 – 33X
Respectfully, submitted,
