BR Case With a PPC Base

All,
Has anyone tried to make a 30 BR with a PPC base. I checked, you would have to take about 30 thou. off the base to use them with a PPC bolt. What would be the drawbacks of doing this other than having to cut the base of a BR case?

They work fine, just make sure you cut the extraction groove deeper too, or it aint gonna work, Steve

Depending on whether or not you use an ejector, it might be easier to have your bolt face opened up for the BR rim. My Pandas and BAT extract the PPC case/rim, but ejection is not 100% reliable.

You also need to add a small bevel on the base of the rim to help the extractor snap over. Look at a factory case to get an idea. Don't over do it. You don't want to decrease the surface area any more than necessary.

There is also the option of using a case with a PPC head(6.5 Grendel) and neck it up to 30 cal. Hmmm. --Mike Ezell
