I want to buy a borescope.Need some advice on which make,model and accessories are best.I appreciate the help.

I've had one for sometime and found it a real eye opener about cleaning. I was way over doing it. I have the Hawkeye 17" with focusing eye piece. I rarely use the full 17 inches as I mostly just check the throat for lead and wear after each match. Occasionally I check the crown. My eyes are less than stellar so the focusing eye piece is a must for me. Mine runs on batteries. I don't think the optional light source would be needed unless you use it daily. I think I might have replaced the batteries once.
MOST IMPORTANT - The Hawkeye, mines about 7 - 8 years old, has a mirror surface on the face of the glass, not under it. Cleaning can easily remove the silver substance on the 45 degree mirror. I did it. I had a $50 rebate from them I ended up spending to get my mirror resurfaced. I no longer touch my mirror but rinse it with acetate? Can't remember. Hell getting old. Anyhow those cotton swabs they send with it will remove the mirror surface. I never put my borescope in the barrel without running a patch first to remove loose stuff.
I had my bulb go bad and found WalMart carries replacements in the sporting goods department. Rich

Hawkeye and Gun Show . . .
I took mine to our local gun show in April. One of our members wanted to check the bore on an Anschutz 1411. Rust in the bore, so he decided not to buy it.
The Hawkeye was sitting on my table for two days. No one took it. I'd like to think we have lots of good people UP here. Small town, cold winters, cool springs, no summers.
