Hey guys what size mop are you using to clean the chamber of your 6ppc? I got some 45 cal mops from proshot and they seem too small.

82,

The 45cal ProShots is what I use too... Even in a 30BR... Now yes, it's a bit small in the 30BR but is serviceable...
Now I do like and use the Hoppes mops... More dense material and "stiffer", little less absorbant.. Typically a tad cheaper than the ProShot mops.

I tried using a bore mop but I couldn't get the chamber clean and dry enough to suit me. I bought some nylon bore brushes, a .416 Rigby I think (for my 30 BR) and wrap a patch for a .45 ACP around it. Two or three and the chamber is nice and dry. I tried wrapping a patch around the bore mop, but then I would have do dig it out of the chamber because it fell off the mop. I don't have that problem with a bore brush.

Just like daved mentioned but I wrap mine in a 2.5 or 3" shotgun patch. Wet it with camp fuel(slightly), twist it in the chamber and remove. Mop lasts a long time.

Make my mop handles out of Aluminium arrow shafts. Cut to length with a pipe cutter, glue the threaded insert in with Crazy glue or whatever you want, and put a knob or handle on the end. Great way to use up oldslightly bent arrow shafts.

12 ga patch.

Brass pistol or chamber cleaning rod.

Brass patch loop on cleaning rod.

Pass patch through loop, then flip half the patch back over the loop. Now none of the brass loop is exposed to the chamber.

Wet with Butches, insert, twist, use several patches until clean and dry with another.
