Bolt Release

Back a few years ago you could get a after market Bolt Release that you could drill and tap into the side of the Remingtons to release the bolt. I know I had them on my earlier Remington bench rifles. If you put a Hart trigger or a Shilen you had to put one of these releases in. The old guys will know what I am talking about. I need some or at least 1 for an idea that I have. You can contact me through this forum or at bill.gammon@rogers.com
Thank You
Bill

This is what you are talking about Bill? This is what is available through Sinclair. Like Andy said, Black or Silver.

Guess who got their Sinclair Catalogue 2 days ago and has not read it yet, DUH!!!
Thanks guys and I take back the bit about you old people, EH!!!

Bill, I use a 1/4 x 28 socket head screw. Just turn down the end a bit and run a die up to the face of the sholder. Drill and tap the action where the rear reciever sight hole is or would be.

What this was all about I just aquired a Savage Muzzle Loader M10 and the idea of having to undo the rear bedding screw to get the bolt out just drove me up a wall. My idea was to use a spring loaded bolt release and grind off the bedding screw. But Gunner223 you just gave me another idea, thanks.

One of the one's that can use SMOKELESS powder.

If so be careful Bill and be sure of your propellant.

What you bought a SAVAGE....................................... eek..................
