I have several examples of bad things happening to Remington bolts. Everyone walked away unhurt. I wouldn't worry about it. The one thing I don't understand is why some feel the need to turn the nose down on the bolt. It is the weakest part on a Remington bolt. It's main mission is to hold the extractor and reduce the amount of escaping gas should you have a case failure. It's not designed for alignment of the bolt, bush the bolt body for alignment. Removing any metal significantly reduces the strength. Tight clearences between bolt and counter bore usually lead to cantankerous finicky shooting rifles. Even when I put Sako extractors in I never turn down the outside of the bolt nose.
