Bob shot a 250 15x on the USBR target with his unlimited class pistol in a sanctioned match yesterday. That's the first 250 ever shot in a sanctioned match and a nice looking target!

Wow, can we get some details on his pistol?

Bob Kadow pistol

I shot the 250 15x in a USBR match yesterday. There have been some quesitons on my pistol. It is a Turbo action with a Shilen 22LR barrel. It has a jewell trigger with a Weaver 24 power scope. It has a harmonic ballancer on the barrel. The gun was built by Bob Springstead who is in his late 70's. He sold it to me because his eyes were going bad. I am a retired police officer and I spent two hours a day for the last three weeks dry practicing in my gym. When I went to the match I shot with a dry firing attitude and fired one shot at a time.

The score was shot at Clark Rifles, Inc. in Vancouver Washington.

Bob,

I assume you were just practicing with the pistol at the Clark Rifles Range. Are they planing on starting 22 rf br matches?

They tried centerfire short range BR matches several years ago, but the matches were so poorly run that most NW BR shooters pretty much decided to not bother attending the matches after the 2005 season and it folded.

A real shame too, 'cause when the conditions were good on that range, they were GREAT. Most shooters felt most all of the 300 yards world records could be broken on that range. It's the only range I've ever fire all five groups at 300 yards under 1".

For small aggs.

Yes we shoot USBR at our range. We shoot a registered match every Thursday morning at 0900. We shot over 50 matches last year. It was not a practice match.

Great score! 15X's is a lot of x's on a USBR target. Was this score shot at 50 yards? No mention was made of the distance in the original post, and since USBR shoots at both 25 and 50 yards, I thought I'd ask. Anyway, good shooting!

50 yards

All the USBR sanctioned matches are held at either 50 yards or 50 meters. A lot of clubs use the USBR target at 25 yards but those are not officially sanctioned matches. Besides the sanctioned matches our club holds a semi-auto only match at both 25 and 50 yards and it can be quite a challenge for a stock 10/22 even at 25.
