Bigfoot bag experience, opinions?

What are your opinions of the Seb Bigfoot rear bag? I am shooting a Lee Six made SG&Y Millennium stock. How well do you think that it would fit my stock's butt?

Boyd, I use the Edgewood MiniGator and the regular Edgewood Original rear bags. The MiniGator is close to the SEB Bigfoot. The Edgewood Gator is very close to the SEB. As do many shooters I also have the usual scattering of Bald Eagles and Protektors with the various ears, sides and bases.

What I have decided is that the bigger bags are more stable and therefore more accurate provided 1) sand that will pack hard is not used and 2) the user comes up with a way to eliminate the "chase the first shot" problem that can happen with the big, hard, ears. I use a piece of wool felt that is about 1/2" x 1/4" x 2" and lay it across the ears to create a short shim the butt stock rides in instead of the oversize channel of the big, long, ears.

Thanks Jerry,

What sort of sand does not pack hard? I like your idea for creating what amounts to line contact with the ears. I will have to give it it some serious range time.

Generally a coarse "play sand" works best for me. I have had to buy 2-3 brands (Lowes, Home Depot, Wally-World, etc) to find the one I like best. I guess it is the screens they use that makes different degrees of coarsness.

I have a wrist bag stuffed with a mixture of play sand and Parakeet seed (not gravel but seed) that really is what I like but it would be illegal in the "gun" bags. Wouldn't it be terrible to win the Nationals then get disqualified for bag content.....not to worry, me.

A piece of 3/8" cotton rope works pretty well but it sometimes moves back and forth. The hard wool felt seems best. I wish I could remember where I came into it. I first used pieces of it to make a front rest for a Cruiser setup.

I have the same stock

The bigfoot bag is the best thing I ever bought!

I rest my right hand on the front of the bag and just tap the trigger. It is really comfortable.
