:confused:HELP!?!? Hi folks. As promised...no mentioning of Jellied Preserves here.... I am however seeking any information on how much a Brand New RCBS Big Max Heavy Duty Reloading Press is valued at? And any history on it that anyone can offer? I've done a little bit of research, but I'm not coming up with any concrete answers. One forum suggested I come to you gentlemen (and ladies) so here I am. From what I've gathered, it was only produced for a very short period of time due to low sales, but is rare and is a darn good loader. It is brand new in the box. Instructions still with it, plastic still on the accessories. I would greatly appreciate if anyone offer any insight??? Or lead me to where I could find out more information. Thanks in advance!

The A4 Big Max was made in the 1980s (the A1, A2, and A3's were sporadically offered from the late 40's and up). My dad has one that we rarely use. Hard to say on value but I'd guess $300 NIB. I've seen used versions sell for $200 - $250.

Thanks.

Thanks Lee. Just trying to find out information on one my father wants me to sell for him. But I'm not sure if I want to. I'm a sucker for anything "vintage." So I may just buy it from him but want to make sure I have the best possible pricing for him, and the best possible info for me.

One other neat thing about the Big Max is it's capable of loading .50 BMG. You just need a the 1 1/2"x12 bushing. I think my dad bought his in the 80's for BMG but later switched to the RCBS AmmoMaster 2. BTW, the only A-series "Big Max" press was the A4 offered from 1982 to 1989. They're well made so you may want to keep it.

Yea man give him a couple hundred for it and keep it. Anytime you try to sell some vintage stuff all you get is lowballers anyway and theres not much market for newer vintage stuff (between old vintage and new current styles) im sure just having it knowing its origin is worth more than what youll get for it AND its a great press you can use! Not sure why somebody thought you should come here for that press but welcome to the forum nonetheless!

Back to the scheduled program,

Does it have the "Universal Shellholder(s)" feature installed? Or in the box?

If so, I might be interested.......
