Bi-Pods legal to use ?

I have not yet gone the route of a proper rest and top. Spent a bunch just getting a starting rifle & ammo. But the other day I was practicing for an upcoming Egg Shoot with my Ruger 77/17 and found the shooting off of it's bi-pod very easy. I also recall reading an article in one of the Precision Shooting magazines of some military shooters doing better off of their bi-pods than the bench, perhaps mostly as it was what they were used to. But a good BR bi-pod is about $100 and that seems attractive to me. Thanks.

Hi David,

I quote from the Unlimited rules..."Unlimited scope, unlimited weight, any rest is legal, and pistols are legal. Gun and/or rest cannot be attached to the bench. No electronic or mechanically assisted triggers". I would assume that bi-pods are OK for Unlimited IR

I don't think bi-pods would be OK for IR 50/50 three gun.

See you in the morning, Al
