Best powder for 175 Sierra MKs

What powder do you guys find works best with Sierra 175 Matchkings? I've been using Varget and have tried RL-15. Varget worked best in my LTR but doesn't in my custom .308 24" barrel.

Why?

Did you try Optimum Charge Weight loads or do a ladder test, what primers ( BR-2's?) seating depth changes??? Friendly reminders that we do not have enough data to advise you thus far. Cordially, Overbore

I apologize...I'm attempting to use Varget powder with Lapua brass, CCI BR2 and am loading SMKs @ 2.810. Is there a better powder in terms of consistency that I could try? Some mentioned IMR/H4895. I have tried RL-15 in the past and wasn't too impressed. I have tried OCW and this is what I saw with my chrono when firing from a 95 Palma chamber with Krieger 24" 1/11 twist:

Mr. Robertb can you believe, that this somehow may be a good start?

The 43.5 gr. load looks very good if you look at the velocity numbers.
You will have to shoot more rounds with this load to proudce a good SD.
Try 15-20 rounds and if tou keep the velocitys as close as the four you posted you will have a winner.

Use a faster powder.

Varget and RE-15 work better in longer barrels. With the 20" tube of the LTR, you would be better off using a faster powder, such as H-4895.

If you are leaning towards a shorter barrel and faster powder, don't forget IMR4064 in your testing.

The load I'm trying to find is actually for my KMW (Krieger 24" tube 1/11 twist). I had mentioned that I found a decent load for my LTR using Varget.

My 24" Patriot Arms broughton 12 twist .308 preferred RL-15 for the 175 smks, but a close second was IMR 4895. It hated Varget, and the lot to lot variances didn't help any either. I found H 4895 to be a bit faster and higher pressure, which was a bad thing in Houston, TX during the summer.
