Berger 185 vdl Hunting Bullet Twist Question

I have a 300 Weatherby Mag 29 inch barrel 1-10 twist, I call Berger Bullets and they told me the recommended twist for 185 vdl is 1-12 or faster, aim looking for some input in this before i expend $50 in a box and then find out that my twist of 1-10 is to fast.

Curious as to why you didn't ask berger when you had them on the phone. But if the person you talked to said 12 or faster I don't think a 10 would be too fast .....you could always call and double check or e-mail Eric Stecker

The key words being "or faster" ........ you will be just fine with your 10-tw

Hey Paco,
Looks like this has already been answered, but yes, your 1x10 is just fine. The Berger listings for twist aren't "recommended" twists, they're minimums for stability. Given a choice between a little too fast, or not quite fast enough, you want to go with too fast every time. You're golden here.
