Wondering if anyone has been shooting this bullet in a 1 in 8 twist 6mm barrel.

Mine is 28" long and I shoot at 3300 ASL. Curious as to the stability I will get. Sometimes shoot at higher elevations as well.

Expected velocity is 3,000 ft/secs, or better.

Thanks for the input

308sako,

I'm curious also. I'm guessing that you will be right on the edge. Since you're there and have the rifle, give it a try and let us know what you find out. 8 twist with a 6/250 Imp at 1400 didn't work well for me with 115 Tubbs. I expected Bergers being longer to be more problematic yet in my setup and didn't try.

A 1_8 will not stablize a 115 Berger at 1k.you need a 1-7.25.try some 105s they are a better bullet.

1-7.5 Pac Nor barrel shot the 115 Tubbs just fine. This was a 6x47 Lapua and using H4831. 3-shots usually in the .8's at 300yds and at 600yds, my palm would cover 5 shots

never got the 115s to shoot as good as the 105 to 108 grainers

I could never get any 6mm over 108 grains to shoot as good a 6mm bullets of 108 or less.

I just think at 108 the bullets have reached the maximum length tollerence.

I have tried them in 6mmBR through 6mm/O6 in barrels 1:6 through 1:9.

In my opinion 105-108 offers the best combination.

I use a 1 in 8 with a 243 AI and 115 DTACS for 1000 yard benchrest - they stabilise fine at 3200fps.

I shot 115 DTACs in my PacNor 1 in 8 at about 3000 fps and saw no instability. Maybe in cold weather? I stopped using them when I got a batch that had 2 different ogive-to-base measurement groups, like .010" different dies made them. I shoot 105 Bergers now.

Actually had no problem with stability, but accuracy wasn't as good as the 107 Sierra's in my rifle. Velocity was 3,050 ft/secs using R 17.
