Bent scope!!??

I've dropped a rifle, it landed hard on the objective end and has bent the scope tube. Loosened the rings to use them as a "V" block set I get approx. . .200" TIR. It's a Leupold 12X with 40mm obj, 1 inch tube. I'll call Leupold Monday. What do you think they will say, other than tell me not to be so clumbsy??
Thanks
Tim

They are a great company for honoring their warranties. I dropped a Leupold binocular two different times and each time they re-aligned it for just the cost of shipping. Not many companies treat their customers as well as Leupold!

Yea, thats what I'm hoping for, not so much for the warranty, but if they could just fix it at a cost that wouldn't be so much that it would make me buy a new scope. I've had this scope since 97 when I bought it new, mil dots with a target turret on the elevation only. I rebarrelled a model 700 and mounted this scope 90 degrees to the counterclockwise of normal so the target turret is my windage as I don't really need to crank in elevation with the mil dots. I haven't shot it alot in this configuration, mostly just fire formed my brass, but I think this mount style will work nicely.
Wish me luck.

Bending a scope by dropping a rifle on it is not a warranty issue, but Leupold quoted me a little over $100 to replace a bent tube on a 24x BR. It happens.

I had a 6.5 x 20 Leupold that suffered the same problem. They fixed it for a modest fee and returned it promptly. You could have them put the target turret where you want it while it is at the factory. Leopold is very good about repairs.

I thought for sure you were the guy I saw drop his rifle at the firing range last Saturday, and bend his scope......until you mentioned it was a Leupold. His was a $125 Bushnell....lucky for him.

It mut be a contagious condition. :D

I'd hate to find out how some of these other companies would handle it. Imagine this happening with a Zeiss, Swarvoski, Schmidt& Bender, or Knightforce? They might be just fine too, but it seems like Leupold can't be beat for customer service.
