Bent barrel - straight chamber

I just chambered the most bent blank I have ever had to do. I was really surprised how much the bore was off in the length of a 7mm Mag.

I normally set up and dial the throat area in and the muzzle... and on a straight barrel this has always worked well.

It is the first time I have dialed the throat area and the back of the bore in and ignored the muzzle... it was interesting doing it and in the end really not that difficult to get the bore ahead of the throat and the rear dialed in... I didn't measure how much the muzzle was waving but it was probably 100 thou or more... I indexed the muzzle up to the action and then chambered and fitted the barrel. The outside diameter ahead of the recoil lug was out considerably as well. I will make a light cut between centers to clean this up.

The chamber/throat came out as good as any .. as far as I can tell with a magnifier. The throat appears very even and centered.

Good for Gordy Critters...

I`ve run into this too..... it`s frightening.......... have not had a bad shooting one.........the only good thing about it is you can clock the barrel to get more/less elevation or windage.....
