Benchrest Stuff

The have been titanium Rapid receivers produced. Same design now available in 7075 aluminum. A single shot design with air delivery through the bolt is being done, possibly to use a Jewell trigger. Benchrest barrels, hand lapped by a well known barrel manufacturer. Other barrel makers waiting to see the response.

A quick poll. Are you willing to spend the money on a custom and dedicated benchrest air rifle? Thanks for your responses.

In answer to poll question,Yes. One thing I am concerned about is support of product, over all in the high end air gun it is thin., plenty of marketers, not much repair wise. State side it is an area needing improvement. Shipping back to a mfg overseas is a very poor option.

Support can be a tough issue when talking about truly custom products. The up side is that not much can to go wrong with a Rapid titanium or aluminum action. The internal parts, in some cases, are custom as well. Barrel are barrels, some are good and some are not so good, at least an air rifle barrel is going to last a very long time. Most of the items I have referenced are being made in the USA, so overseas shipping is not a consideration. On another note, many benchrest shooters become tinkerers that constantly experiment and seek out small improvements. Many take support into their own hands. As air rifle benchrest grows, there will be more "gunsmiths" ready to assist those that need a helping hand.
