Why are the rules different for the 1000yd and 100/200yd. I am aware of the Varmint Rifle Diagram in the current nbrsa rules pg 113. I do not understand the significances of the change. I do not see the advantage or disadvantage of this change. agmubx

Ohhhh Boy...... how to answer that??? Mechanically or historically......?

Are you a gearhead? It's like the difference between a drag car and a roundy-round car... the two disciplines require different motors/gearing/suspension (read chamberings/stocks/etc) and therefore different configurations.

As far as the diagram re Varmint Rifle spec's I think most of the angles can be explained by a ruling that dates clear back to inception, the intent being to "maintain the look of a real hunting rifle."

Define your question a liddle more?

I think you have given a logical response. I felt that it was an attempt to keep the varmint look. Thanks for your reply. RMB SA Tx
