Benchrest Shooters In New Mexico

I would like to know as many BR shoters from my area as possible. If you live in New Mexico, or know BR shooters from NM, please let me know. I know of one near Clovis (Bro. D) that I plan on shooting some club matches with. I live in the Cloudcroft area. I currently make some club matches outside of Alamogordo, but would like to know what all options I have.

I sent you an e mail with contact person in the Albq. area. There is a group of BR rimfire shooters there. I don't know your game of shooting.

Michael, I know of two BR shooters in Albuquerque. The are both very good shooters but as far as I know they don't visit BRC. There is also a guy in Raton that visits BRC regularly that just shot The Best In The West in Raton, hopefully he will know some others. There are two others in Clovis but they are out of action right now because of a new business venture but hopefully by mid summer they will be able to shoot again. That's about all I know of. I'm sure there are others and will be interested to see who they are and where they lived. Later. Bro.D

Thanks for the information. I shoot my 30-30 in LV and HV group, and would like to do some VFS. Yesterday I shot some score down in Alamogordo at 200 yards. The mirage was so bad that it took me 2 minutes of firing at the sighter just to see my bullet holes with a 36X Leupold. After I finally knew where they were hitting, my next three shots for record went into about .125". That would be if you stacked the 10 rings on top of each other. I was surprised it shot so well for 200 yards. I had pulled my Krieger barrel out and put my slow twist Douglas in since it was a small club match. The Douglas barrel won. Just something to keep in mind for those that shoot 30BR for score and group. Douglas will make any twist you want (18"), and you can expect about .2" accuracy. It may not be the barrel you screw in for registered matches, but for practice and club matches, it saves your best ones.

Michael, if you are looking for BR Group shooters we have several in the Albuquerque area. If you are looking for score shooters or Rimfire, I don't think we have very many.
