Benchmaster Husky

I have a chance to purchase a new Benchmaster Husky RBLP .308 BF. Are these a decent action? Just going to build a play/varmint out of it. Any problems or concerns with these?
Thanks much, Brian.

Just depends upon how much you have to pay for it. Red Cornelison had quite a few Benchmaster actions when he passed away. I wound up selling a couple of them for his wife, Bonnie. There wasn't anything wrong with them particularly just an older style custom action. I think the bolt head was removable with phillips head screws holding the bolt head to the bolt body. That's not seen anymore on current custom actions and would be a place that could cause trouble. For playing or varmint hunting, good enough and probably better than most factory actions. For competition, I'd get something else.

I have a lot of parts for them and some of the tooling. They were great in their day, but I would look around unless you want nostalgia.

Husky Thumb Screws

Feel like an idiot but I just bought a Husky Benchmaster and it has 2 thumb screws with a long thin pin attached what is that? Never seen that before

Thank You for your help!

thumbscrews

Thanks again man!! not sure if this worked, they are the two knurled round things in the pic, they don't thread in they just pull out and push back in, long pin attached to the knurled round end
