Benchmark barrel and receiver Marauder

Howdy all. I thought I would offer this to someone here before I go to the yellow horde. I built this for the Kid, Daniel Finney, a little over a year ago. It is an air rifle bore Benchmark barrel, 28". It is all machined ready to go with a bored receiver with two extra set screws. It also has a brass thimble which will allow you to index the barrel.
Daniel prefers his .177 barrel and doesn't use this anymore. I believe he shot a 740 indoors last time he used it. The barrel has about 200 rounds through it.
The barrel and receiver cost me about $400. I put about $250 worth of machining into it, I'll let it go for $400 plus shipping.

You said Daniel prefers his .177, does that mean this is a .22?
Twist Rate?
Does the thimble need to be heated to rotate the barrel or does it spin freely?
Also I see silver metal inside the thimble in the breech view picture. Is that the actual barrel going through the thimble with holes drilled in the perimeter of the barrel at the transfer port to let air through regardless of the rotation, or does the barrel stop before the transfer port and that's a sleeve that guides the pellet before it meets the barrel?
Thanks

It is .22 cal, 1:17 twist. That is the oring that you see in the thimble. The barrel stops before the transfer port. The thimble guides the pellet into the lead. It can be rotated freely, I recommend using loctite once you determine the best position. You will need a torch to break it free after using loctite.

Dan,
I can't tell you how proud I am to be giving this kit a new home! It only took a few shots and I was hooked. It was clear from the first few shots that it was special!
Thank you!

You're welcome. Once the barrel is indexed and you find the right pellet it should really come alive. An air stripper may help too.

Someone missed a great deal on that barrel/breach combo. Dan removed the stock parts and mounted the BM setup on Brad's Mrod within minutes of the first line being called. It was shot over a chrony for speed only to get within the HV limits and Brad took it to the line unsighted/untested!
Very nice shooting indeed Brad, I fear it will be difficult to compete with you in the future.
