We had a great match today at Bell City. A number of out of state shooters came to the match and showed us how this game is played. Mark Ludinsky shot his light varmint gun into first place and at the same time tying a range record with 250-21x, Clark Shen was second with 19x and Willie Valley shooting his SAVAGE actioned 30br with a tuner that I sold him earlier in the year shot a 250-17x (and he would have had more if he was able to figure out the benches a relay or two sooner). Willie also had his first and second 50-5x in his BR career, and judging by his control once he figured out the benches I think he will be in line for a lot more.
We had two first-time score benchrest shooters at the match, Peter Gagne and Darryl Harvey, who shot well and said they would be back for more. We look forward to seeing more of them at the future matches.
As an aside and an observation about this game in which we participate:
Regardless of what the score sheet said nearly all, if not all, of those who participated were smiling throughout the day. My wife was keeping score for us, we had food and plenty of water to keep us going through the hot day, and for whatever reason I am always happier when one of my fellow shooters does better than I do. I am quite sure that there are a lot of people who feel the same way, and that is what makes this sport great.
I also came home to a great father's day gift

Hope all the fathers out there have a great day tomorrow, and all your sons and daughters are safe.
