Today was hot...really, really freaking hot and humid. Temps in the high 80's/ mid 90's with 80% humidity and little to no wind of which to speak. It was brutal, but somehow we managed to have a great time and further the sport a little more.
We had 11 VFS guns 2 factory and 2 semi-custom guns come out for our second match at 200yds.
Yours truly managed to best the field in VFS with a 250-6x and my father came in second with a 248-4x. Jim Greene was solidly in the lead through the first 4 matches, but a double crossfire on the last target took him out of contention. I hated to win that way, and look forward to having Jim come back and show us how it is done at 100yds next month.
Anyone wishing to compete in VH, H or the AR class are welcome to come and shoot (and bring a friend, too!). We are always looking for more shooters to come down and try their hand at our game. We had a few returning shooters in the factory and semi-custom classes which was great to see.
Vince Staskiewicz put up a 220 -0X (shooting a .223 savage) in the factory class for first placed followed by Darryl Harvey with a 218-0x (.308 FN)
Peter Gagne bested the semi-custom class with a 240-4x followed by Joe Collin with a 234-2x, and Jeff Garlick with a 230-1x.
Thanks, again, to all the shooters who continue to support these matches, and for helping out with target changing.
See you all next month,
Mike Suhie
