I haven't used it yet, but I read on another post that Devcon's Plastic Steel Paste is a sound choice. I am also going to look into a few Marine products as they are thought to be least affected by weather ( got that one from a high-power post). Hope this helps a bit, tim
On this subject does anybody know how Richard Franklin achieves such a neat straight line finish to the bedding at the front of the bedding? If the barrel and action is only supported by tape near the Forend and at the rear by the original stock what stops the bedding mud from just being pushed forward with an irregular finish at the front? Any help would be appreciated
I don't know what he does, but I used to lay tape in the stock channel exactly where I wanted to trim the bedding to, then build up a matching ring on the barrel or action. I'd end up with only a shaving of bedding that I could trim off with a box knife.
