Bedding on F-T/R laminated stock?

I'll be building my 40X into a F-t/r rifle using a laminated wood stock. Whats the preferred bedding method? I can buy one with a aluminum bedding block and skim coat, pillar bed or glass bed.

If you can order it without the aluminum bedding block, you should epoxy bed the action and install pillars at the same time. I prefer Devcon 10100.

I cast glass pillars rather than using aluminum. I have built a couple of "F" class stocks for which I made aluminum bedding blocks (model 70's) and it worked out OK but the other half dozen which are bedded in glass with glass pillars work at least as well. My theory has always been that the wood, laminated or not, will shrink and swell as moisture content changes (and it WILL change) and a fiberglass pillar cast into the stock is better able to deal with this than is an aluminum pillar glued in. I confess that this is probably mostly in my mind rather than being reality. Regards, Bill.
