BAT trigger hanger position?

My BAT action came with two trigger hangers that give four different possible positions of the trigger in relation to the action. I can choose front to rear positions from 0, 10, 20 and 30 (I guess thousandths of an inch).

What am I trying to accomplish (or avoid) with the different positions? I set it up on 20 and its works fine but I might be missing something. Please tell me if I am.

are because of variations on triggers. Not all sears are the same. And Bruce is trying to accomodate that fact.

I like to set the trigger so when you close the bolt, and it "hands off" from the bolt to the sear, it's as transparent as possible. You surely don't want to cock it more, and I don't like the partial fall to the sear. Even is nice.

you can turn a hummer into a bummer??

My buddy took off his jewel to clean and polish up the case. (Davids 6XC on DS action is purely a hummer).. after he put it back togetherm it was just a "ho-hum" barrel. One look at the shroud and i could tell he had it on backwards. (it was ho humming him crazy for a few days). David didn't realize it was made like this... I had him put it back to the previous position. and it went back to shooting purty little holes again..

one needs it in the correct place... get a good load and try 2 or 3 postions. you may find a "better" tune.
