Do the bolts lock directly into the receiver, or into the inserts?

Don, I'll make it more clear

What inserts?
,,,,,,,,,,,

As I've never seen a BAT action that's what I'm asking.
Does BAT action have a locking insert or does the bolt lock directly into the receiver recess?

Shoot well

Peter,

So far as I am aware, having only seen one Bat in the flesh, the only actions that have inserts are the aluminium alloy ones, Panda, Viper.

The insert is basically just the front 40 - 50mm of a conventional stainless action screwed into an alloy sleeve that guides the bolt, creates bedding area and holds the trigger.

Thanks

According to the BAT material specifications I didn't think that they had locking inserts, but these days one never knows for sure, so thanks for all your replies.

AI rifles have steel receivers, and they have an insert...
