Fellas i ordered a couple new BAT actions and they are here. I had them made with a combo bolt face, meaning the bolt should pull a ppc but is actually a BR/308 size head. My actions are MB right right. I screwed a ppc barrel just to play around a bit and my bolt will only pull the case half way out and then drops it. This action does have an ejector so my question is this. Can i increase the ejector spring pressure with a different spring and by doing so will that keep enough side force on the case to allow proper ejection, or do i need to send the action back to bat and have the extractor moved in a little? I hate to bother Bruce as he is always busy, and if i can fix this with a spring i will do so with out bother the boys at BAT Machine. If i need to have the extractor altered a little i will then call Bruce. Any thoughts on this? Thanks Lee

Considering how they were ordered, i would check them both, and if there are any function problems, give them a call. It is probably a very minor issue, but I have a thing about not having to fix new custom actions. Oh, and one more thing, I am sure that they will agree that there is nothing that they do that is more important than keeping their customers happy.
I ran into this once with an SV and Bruce provided me with a few extractors of varying thickness.
With this I trial & error'd to resolution(one of em worked perfect).
I also ran into this with an RS action when a gunsmith somehow put a wrong spring under it's extractor. Bruce called that problem immediately.

My 3L will drop a PPC case before it ejects. (About 1 out of 20 shots fired.) It will happen less if I run the bolt fast. I seldom shoot a PPC so for now I'm leaving it alone.
I just threw that out there so you would know it happens to most of them. All the real serious PPC shooters I know use a PPC specific bolt just for that very reason.
