Going to change the FP spring and the set screws are rounded out. Any tips on getting them out? Also what is the thread size? Thanks

Go to BAT Website
Look under videos
The instructions and allen wrench size is all there for removing the firing spring.
Might try new allen wrench or a size larger (Or a metric size larger) after heating the area up to soften the glue.
You might be able to "set" the allen wrench by tapping gently before attempting to back it out.
There are 2 set screws that you have to remove.

You may have to drill out.
Might try L. handed drill bits??
I would use drill bits using your fingers to catch the set screw and back it out.
Don't think I would use a drill except as last resort.

Hope others chime in with other options for you.

Yes, what a bummer

from what I can see, whoever put in the set screws used blue 242 loctite instead of 222 purple. I have taken apart many bat fp assemblys and had not ran into this problem until now. I have always put just a little heat on the cocking piece and things came apart nicely. I think I will talk to bat and see what they say.
Thanks for the reply.

Well I run into this sometimes. The screws are 6-32 x 1/8.

More often than not use a brand new 1/16" Allen key. This will usually take a rounded socket screw out. Drilling them is not too bad just use a left handed drill like was explained earlier. This will bring them out before the drill breaks through.

Be sure to heat it when using the left hand bits. If it was hard to get out with the key itll be hard for the drill

And I never reuse the set screws. They are cheap and reusing them makes the chance of them getting buggered up higher.

Just a thought
