Basic BR stock question

Why are 100-200yd BR stocks angled on on the bottom rear and 1000yd guns not. Is one better that the other? If so why doesn't the other group use it?

Thanks

Short range rules require the stock to be angled on the underside of the butt.

Al,
I think it has more to do with the rules of the respective classes than one being better than the other. I know that in shortrange br (HV and LV), the angle of the buttstock has to intersect with the barrel no further than 18" if a line were drawn from the bottom of the buttplate to the barrel. The unlimited classes in shortrange BR (railguns) are not limited by this. In long range BR the rules allow for no drop in the toe, and would allow the stock to track straight back. Based on the current groups being shot in the shortrange game, I don't know that it's hindering people much.
Hope this makes sense.

As is said above, the rules in short range BR call for it. Additionally I should ad I am using a 1000 yard BR style stock for F-class and I don't like it. The flat bottome doesn't allow for quick elevation changes by sliding a stock for or aft, as I am used to with a short Range BR stock. My next F-class stock will have a slight taper, maybe not as much as short range BR taper, but it won't be flat like 1000 yard br.
