Base for Standard Tripod Rest

I have a standard Wichita cast iron base and have considered adding a base plate to it for extra weight. I have seen on several websites where bases like this have been added to a standard rest. Is there anyone who sells something like this ready made or does one have to find a good welder? If there is nothing available for purchase does anyone have a diagram or plans to make one? I know someone who is an excellent welder.

Jim,
I would suggest that one be made and bolted to the existing leveling screws holes in the feet of your rest from underneath. Then drill and tap 3 more holes in the base plate for your adjustments. No welding needed and removable in the future if ever desired.
