I got this email in from Bob Clark about the passing of Bart Parnall Friday.

Bart Parnall passed away this morning; his heart did not last long enough to get the transplants he was on the list for. Bart's wife Christy let Brian Johnson know there having a Irish wake only and it will be Sunday Oct 16th from 10am to 6pm. The visitation is at a friend's ocean front house at 1021 East Arctic St. Folly Beach, Charleston SC.
Bart was a dedicated shooter, even with his condition he won the Black Hawk this year, won the River bend 3200 this year, won the Elmira 6400 this year and was in 10th at Camp Perry ( Irons) when he withdrew because of his health. We will all miss him. Bob Clark

Some of you got to meet Bart (he was a position shooter who came to a few Benchrest matches in Summerville), but I have known him for several years – sending him Eley bullets, he was a true competitor who strived to live life to the fullest. I got him to try R50 for this year’s matches last autumn, he began with a flurry of great wins and was so enthusiastic on how well 659 shot – he always knew he could shoot if he could only find the right bullet, he proved he was right this year. He had days where his lips were blue from pulmonary hypertension, but he still competed even if his fellow shooters had to carry him off the line. It was his time to leave us, but I’m glad he went out a winner; his Lot 659 proved he was a world class position shooter, his attitude and smile helped many others get into shoot rimfire (I don’t have a picture of him not smiling and horsing around).
He will be missed at the firing line.
