Since we are like rimfire shooters, we are at the mercy of pellet manufacturers for quality and consistency, what should we be asking from barrel manufacturers?
In .22, rimfire barels have tight groove and bore diameters available, .219 x .214, grooves from 2 to 8 and twists at 1-16 to 1-18 but when I borescope an air rifle barrel it looks much different than the rimfire barrel. I spoke with Woody at Lothar and while it was an enlightening conversation, it was clear that most of the information I was after was proprietary.
What might be the next step up in the evolution in the air rifle barrel? Thanks for your opinions.
