Rober'to,
I know this is a "loaded" question. My S.W.A.G. would be that the barrel time is decreased because the bullet has less distance to travel to exit the muzzle. Where is this thread going ?

Joel, I believe it was stated here that Velocity and barrel time
are not always increasing/decreasing together. Seating depth being
an option for tuning, I just wondered if anyone knew about its relationship
to barrel time.
The smart aleck answer would be how long a time the bullet is in the barrel would depend upon how long it takes for the condition you are shooting to come back before you fire the round.
Jamming the lands should increase pressure increasing velocity which should decrease the insignificant amount of time that the bullet is in the barrel from the time the cartridge fires to the time that it exits the muzzle.
This is a question for VarmintAl I think. Do the barrel harmonics consider the mass of the bullet and its shifting mass along the barrel in the mass of barrel or are the bullet mass and barrel mass independent variables? I have read through Vaughn's book a couple of times and the harmonics are described in detail.... but it makes my head spin until I past out into a cozy nap.....
