Barrel swap

I changed barrels for the first time yesterday. The new barrel shot 1-3/4" higher on the target at 100yrds. After a simple scope adjustment the new barrel shows real potential. Is this common with a barrel swap?

Real potential is common with a new barrel swap. :D

I have not done a swap with the scope on but I don't think a slight change in point of impact is uncommon.

Yes and no

Dear Kim, A point of impact change is the norm when switching barrels. I would not be concerned about it on your gun as little as it did change. The new barrel showing real potential, alas, is not always the case. Tim

Simply.... Yes, around 1/2 to 2" POI difference is typical @100 yds...
Make note of this >>IF<< you plan on swaping barrels at matches so you can click your scope between yardages/classes...
