barrel from Speedy

I ordered one of the barrels Speedy G. had listed here in the classifieds. There was a discussion on this board about not receiving the barrels and people were upset. Speedy had a family crisis and got back to me with this message:

''Yvette put the barrel in USPS this afternoon, your check arrived last Monday. I had to drive to the Texas, Louisiana border last Wed after a frightening call Tues after work. My daughter and two granddaughters were broadsided by some young kid driving his dads BMW and totaled both vehichles. I just got back at 5:45 this morning about dead myself from almost 2200 miles of driving from Colorado clear across Texas and back. I hope things will go better this week. We threw in a second barrel for the delay."

Now he didn't have to give me an extra barrel for free but he did. Speedy is a good man to deal with and I hope no one will hesitate to do business with him in the future.

I Agree!!!

Speedy built a Hunter rifle for me in 1997. It turned out to be a super rifle that's still going strong and on its third barrel now. The "cone-within-a-cone" bedding job he did on this rifle eliminates any placement mistake when removing and reinstalling the action. Great rifle. When I picked up the rifle, he took an hour of his time to explain recommended loads and the proper use of the custom dies that went with the rifle. I found his advise to be invaluable.

I wish him all the best in his new career.
